Holidays and traveling abroad during Ramadan
We all love travelling. It is the time when we can go away to another city or even another country and have fun and explore and just generally relax. Living in the modern world can be stressful and we all need a chance to recharge our batteries. But what if Ramadan was during your holidays? Should you not go away? I am going to share some of my experience on holiday during Ramadan which may interest you and surprise you.
A few years ago I went on holiday to turkey with my family. It was during the holy month of Ramadan. We were unsure what effect this would have on our trip. Would we be the only Muslims in the hotel? Would they serve us breakfasts that early or would we need to keep our own stocks of food? as the dreary thought of creating a mini pantry in my hotel room closet seemed ever so likely we had a pleasant surprise from the hotel concierge. Upon realising that we were fasting he said he would be happy to run up and bring us breakfast at early morning just for us. Inf
act, all around us Muslims were all opening Iftar and when the restaurants were all empty in the day times, except other holiday makers, but at night times it was clear that we were all opening fasts together.
It was wonderful to experience Ramadan in another country and I would advise anyone to do it
